Mood board – I would like to see colour swatches (proper ones) and I tend to avoid using direct imagery – that portrays the content of the app, because it is too leading – it tells the story of what the app is about rather than how the app will ‘feel’.

Wireframes – I get what’s happening and I appreciate the user flow and annotation. The presentation is very user-unfriendly however. You were asked to use the Add Media button so that when clicked, the images would open in their own page and be enlarged. I had to enlarge my browser window to view them (which is a no-no to ask your user to do that).

    Hi Megan,

It’s possible that I misunderstood the exercise–for the mood board, I didn’t see any exact instructions, so I looked mood boards up online and saw what basically looked like a conglomeration of designs, concepts, and imagery within certain color pallets, so that’s what I did. As for the swatches, did you mean they needed their Hexadecimal values? I guess I thought the colors were just supposed to a part of the overall “mood” of the mood board and didn’t need to be labeled. Did I miss instructions somewhere, or should I have known? I’m asking genuinely because I read all the materials for the class and I am starting to worry I’m missing information that I should know…

As for the wireframes, I definitely did use “Add Media” to upload them to the post–the wireframe images are in my “Add Media” section, and that’s where I uploaded them from, so I don’t know what happened. Did you mean that each “screen” needed to be uploaded individually? The instructions say

“Photograph, scan or export your wireframes and upload them to your ‘Design’ post. Make sure that you use ‘Add Media’ so that the images can be clicked on and enlarged”

I photographed two at a time and posted the photograph of each pair. I guess I should have inferred from the instructions that each screen needed to be posted individually?

I try so hard to make sure I’ve found all the information in BlackBoard learn, but it is really hard–I try to print out the instructions for the exercises in both classes, but it seems like I miss something every week no matter how hard I try.
